PORTLAND – The Maine Affordable Housing Coalition (MAHC) will be hosting its biennial Housing Policy Conference and Workshop on Thursday, Novevember 17, at the Westin Portland Harborview on High Street.
Registration for the event is now open.
Nearly 200 practitioners in the affordable housing, design, construction and policy-making fields are expected to participate in the day-long event that will feature ongoing conversations on the impact of the housing crisis and policy solutions aimed at making sure all Maine people have a safe, warm, and affordable home.
Featured speakers include:
- Diane Yentel, CEO, National Low Income Housing Coalition
- Mike Kingsella, CEO, Up For Growth
- Amanda Rector, Maine State Economist
The conference will also include panel discussions with a bipartisan group of Maine lawmakers and housing and service providers that work with the most fragile and vulnerable populations in Maine.
Awards and honors:
At approximately 12:30 p.m., MAHC will honor two individuals with the Elizabeth “Libby” Mitchell Legislator Award, and the Rick McCarthy Leadership in Housing Award.
MaineHousing will also announce its Stephen B. Mooers award for housing development.
