Home Accessibility and Repair Program
MaineHousing's Home Accessibility and Repair Program provides help to low-income homeowners who cannot afford necessary home repairs.

Maine Water Assistance Program
The Maine Water Assistance Program is a limited-time program to assist Maine residents who may have fallen behind or had difficulty paying their drinking water and wastewater bills. The program will provide direct payments to water and sewer utilities on behalf of customers. ** This program closed on June 30th, 2023 **

Well Water Abatement Program
MaineHousing’s Well Water Abatement Program provides grants to eligible single-family homeowners or landlords for dwellings with four rental units or less with private well water that shows evidence of high levels of contamination. Abatement is important to provide clean drinking water to lower-income household, especially those with children under 7 years of age or pregnant women who live or spend a considerable amount of time in the house.

Pre-1976 Mobile Home Replacement Initiative
MaineHousing’s Pre-1976 Mobile Home Replacement Initiative provides income-eligible Maine residents with an opportunity to replace the pre-1976 mobile home they own and occupy as their primary residence with a new ENERGY STAR  

Community Aging in Place Grant
The Community Aging in Place Grant Program offers no-cost home safety checks, minor maintenance repairs, and accessibility modifications to eligible low-income elderly and disabled homeowners.

Lead Paint Hazard Remediation Programs
MaineHousings receives funding from State and Federal sources to offer programs that provide funding to single-family households and owners of rental properties in Maine to help make their homes and rental properties lead safe. Priority for program funds will be granted to abatement projects for housing in which a child resides and who has been determined to have an elevated blood lead level.

Weatherization
MaineHousing’s Weatherization Program provides grants to low-income homeowners and renters to reduce energy costs by improving home energy efficiency. MaineHousing offers this program to consumers through Community Action Program agencies, who screen people for eligibility as part of the HEAP application process.

Central Heating Improvement Program
MaineHousing’s Central Heating Improvement Program (CHIP) provides grants to repair or replace central heating systems that serve low-income households.

Disaster Assistance Loan Programs
The Disaster Assistance Loan Programs offers low-interest rate home repair loans and home replacement mortgages to homeowners whose homes are damaged or destroyed in a declared natural disaster.
